Mogadishu, QN - The Somaliland air space authority returned a plane that has air space permission from the federal government of Somalia to land at Igal international airport in Hargeysa.

According to a press statement from the Somaliland ministry air transport, the plane was ordered to exit from the Somaliland air space before it landed to Hargeisa.

A spokesman from the Somaliland air transport ministry, Abdullahi Qarshe said, "The Somaliland government chassed a plane that has air space permission from Mogadishi from its air space"

"The SS34 plane was going to land at Igal international air port and it has permission from Somalia, not Somaliland" he added.

Somaliland banned the UN flights to land in the airports it controls last month after the Somalia government took over the airspace control from a temporary UN agency that was controling the Somalia air space since 1993.

The ban of the plane having permission from Mogadishu to land at Hargeysa airports may restrict the movements of the people traveling between Mogadishu and Hargeysa.

Somaliland, which announced its independence from the rest of Somalia in 1991, is dealing with technical problems since the entire world recognised the Somalia federal government, which was formed in the country in August 2012.
