Mohamed Omar as our representative to the federal Parliament.

    Dear sir/Madam,

The Global Asharaaf Diaspora Network vehemently and collectively agreed to support the decision of Asharaaf’s community conference in Mogadishu last week, which unanimously agreed to inaugurate Prof. Lutfi Shariif Mohamed as the representative of Asharaaf for the parliament.

Series of conferences for the Global Asharaaf Diaspora in different countries in the Europe, US and Canada consistently agreed to fully support the decision of the community delegations that chose Prof. Lutfi for the candidacy of the parliament.

The conferences, which happened in the countries of USA, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Kenya, all agreed to accept the outcome of Asharaaf conference in Mogadishu, which chose Prof. Lutfi to be the nominated candidate of the parliament.

We fully agreed to back Prof. Lutfi to represent us at the parliament, he is our candidate, and he is the only person that has the full mandate to be at the seat of the parliament.

The Global Asharaaf Diaspora Network lashed out at figures that tried to deliberately violate the decision of the Asharaaf Community including the council of the traditional elders as well as the chief traditional Elder Shariif Cabdullahi Seyid-Cali Xaaji-Daa’uud, who has the final authority to represent Asharaaf in all traditional fronts.

We request, the government of Somalia and to all other dignitary parts copied in the states, to respect the decision of Asharaaf community, which locally and globally agreed to nominate Prof. Lutfi Sharif Mohamed to be the coming member of the parliament for Asharaaf.

We also request the ministry for interior of Somalia to facilitate Shariif Cabdullahi Seyid-Cali Xaaji-Daa’uud, the chief traditional elder and Prof. Lutfi Sharif Mohamed, the nominated candidate, to get all the legal facilitations needed for the process.

Asharaaf will remain independent for the selection of its representatives whether traditional level, political level and community level and demands all concerned parts to respect the unanimous decisions of the community.

    Wabillaahi Towfiiq
